I created Cozy Creek Vintage Primitives LLC in 2009 which evolved into Cozy Vintage Christmas LLC in 2024 ( As I LOVE Christmas and it's my favorite thing to create) and I've been selling my creations on many different venues ever since. Welcome to my little corner of the handmade world. My journey with cloth dolls began back in 2009, starting simply out of a deep love for creation and a desire to see where my hands could take me. Over the years, what started as a simple hobby has evolved into a dedicated artistic practice. I moved away from making simple, quick pieces because my heart lies in crafting intricate, magical, and heirloom-quality dolls that carry a quiet, vintage soul. Every single doll takes time, patience, and a lot of love to bring to life. My love for dolls is not a recent phase; it is a lifelong companion. As a little girl, I was endlessly fascinated by all kinds of dolls. That passion was something deeply shared with my mom. Even as an adult, she collected special dolls, and there was a magical season in our lives when we actually sat down and made dolls together. This craft connects me right back to her, and further back still, to my maternal grandma, who spent her days crocheting wonderful stuffed toys for us. For our family, handmade toys were never just objects. They were symbols of togetherness, comfort, and shared joy. That is why I do what I do today. My primitive and vintage-style cloth dolls may not be mass-produced for every store shelf, but they are stitched with an intention to bring warmth, a gentle smile, and a sense of comforting nostalgia into your home. When you welcome one of my creations into your space, you are welcoming a piece of a multi-generational story rooted in love, family, and the enduring magic of handmade things. *I don't have anyone working with me or for me. I create all my handmade primitive dolls myself, every stitch, every detail from start to finish. I don’t use professional lighting, backgrounds or camera tricks to photograph my art! And the photos are never touched up! My photos show my dolls with normal, every day backgrounds and under normal, every day home lighting.I want you to see what they’ll actually look like with your own warm and cozy primitive decor.
*I use only high quality materials to create my art. I make sure that my items are solid, sturdy and well constructed. I realize that my items aren't just a decoration for one season, or one holiday. I know they will be brought out year after year, or on display every day of the year. Some will be given to loved ones and special friends as gifts or even handed down to children and grandchildren... they become part of a family, a tradition and a home so I make sure each one is very special.
*I use only non-toxic materials in the creation of my art and nothing that I use has a chemical odor. Chemicals bother me so I know they must bother others as well. The only scent my dolls will have are the light, pleasant, heart-warming smells of coffee, tea, cinnamon and vanilla. I use hypoallergenic stuffing and my items are created in a completely smoke free and very clean environment.
*Of course: Every piece of art I create has to first receive Scampers "Kitten Paw Print of Approval" before it enters my shop! Scamper is one of our cats, and he loves to hang out on my work table to supervise and help with everything I do! Every piece of art is signed and dated by me, then stamped with a little paw print to represent Scamper!
*I enjoy knowing that the items I create with my whole heart, here in my home surrounded by the love of my family, will be treasured by my customers as a part of their own homes and families!
A Little Bit About Me:
I've been married to my loving and supportive hubby for over 20 years. I have a deep love for animals ( especially cats) and we have several feline fur babies that light up my life!
I support several animal charities and rescues and I am personally involved in rescue efforts as well. When I am not creating dolls I enjoy acrylic canvas painting, quilting and baking.
I love all things vintage and old fashioned and the warm, nostalgic feeling they bring to the heart.
I thank God for all my blessings and for the gift of creativity which brings others, as well as myself, so much joy and I'm very grateful to my customers for allowing me to continue to do what I love while helping to support my family!
